PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily turn on a power supply of a remote receiver (earphone) by having only to depress a power button once provided to the remote receiver mounted on an ear in the case of replying an incoming call and to switch off the power supply of the remote receiver automatically without the operation of the power button after the end of a speech with respect to the incoming call. SOLUTION: A repeater 100 that is the speech system for a portable terminal comprises a voice input means 107 and a 1st main body power supply control section 112 that detects the arrival of an incoming call by using a control signal for a trigger signal and controls supply of power to the entire circuit of the repeater 100 depending on the result of detection, and a remote receiver consists of a time measurement section that outputs a reset signal when an output of a noise comparison means is consecutive for a prescribed time and a 2nd main booty power supply control section that controls supply of power to the entire circuit of the remote receiver in response to the input of the reset signal.
