PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate breakage due to idling as caused by a circulation pump for circulating a washing solution in a state where no washing solution exists and better maintain a filter washing capacity by properly securing the amount of the washing solution. SOLUTION: In this filter cleaner 1 to wash a filter 2 for cleaning air erected in a ventilation path A within a hood body 11 for cleaning air, a circulation pump 5 is provided at the washing solution accumulation tank 4 at a lower part of the filter 2 for cleaning air to circulate a detergent concentrated solution flowing down from the upper part of the filter 2 to the upper part of the filter 2 through a circulation part 6. A water supply pipe 15 is provided to supply water to the washing solution accumulation tank 4 and a filter washing part is formed to wash the filter 2 during or after the air cleaning operation. A specified amount of a washing solution is supplied when the accumulation quantity of the washing solution is below a specified value.
