The guide element (11) is for a piston/cylinder group whose piston moves axially and the cylinder represents the working chamber. The guide element (11) consists of a sliding sleeve (23) centered by a guide sleeve (21) fitted in a blanking off ring (15) which defines the working chamber and forms itself into an axial envelope (13) to center the guide element (11). A seal (27) surrounds the piston rod and seals the chamber. The guide sleeve (21) is supported axially and radially by the support ring (25) that also carries the joint seal (27) and has a surface to take the bottoming forces on the guide element.
