PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the gain of illumination light and to observe a light display image making it converge and making three red, green, and blue lights, which are spectrally diffracted, and transmitted through a hologram color filter, on all color pixel corresponding areas. SOLUTION: This display device is constituted by arranging the hologram color filter 1, equipped with a spectrally diffracting and transmitting function between a transmission type liquid crystal display panel 2 which modulates projection light according to an applied voltage and a white illumination light source 8 arranged behind the panel 2. Here, the display device functions to spectrally converging all the color lights 3R, 3G, and 3B generated by diffracting and transmitting a parallel white illumination light from behind through the hologram color filter 1 on all the color pixel corresponding regions 4, 5, and 6 of the liquid crystal display panel 2. |
