摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in the battery can volume from that at installation time by the expansion of a negative electrode at charging time, by combining a positive electrode member, coated with an active material capable of storing/releasing lithium ions, whose lithium ions are released by charging operation before being assembled with a negative electrode member capable of storing the lithium ion, with another negative electrode body capable of storing/releasing lithium ions. SOLUTION: A positive electrode member having a positive electrode mix 21 containing a positive electrode active material such as LiCoO2 becomes a lithium ion-released positive electrode body 2 by passing an electric current in a lithium elimination unit between it and a pseudo-negative electrode body such as copper nonreactive with lithium. A spiral electrode wound body 1 with a sperator 4 such as porous polyethylene between this and a negative electrode body 3 of lithium metal and an alloy capable of storing/releasing a lithium ion, is installed in a battery can to be sealed after pouring an electrolyte. Since the positive electrode body 2 is in a charging state, the volume of the negative electrode body 3 contracts after discharge, and is restored to the former state by the expansion after recharge, so that the respective electrode bodies will not be broken by a mutual pressure so as not to reduce battery capacity.
