PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte secondary battery in which a porous collector having advantages in manufacturing such as excellent in permeability for electrolyte solution in used for at least one electrode out of a positive electrode and a negative electrode and has a high rate characteristic. SOLUTION: This battery is equipped with a power generation element 1 composed by laminating a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 3 interposing an electrolyte layer 4 and active material layers and retained on both the surfaces of a porous collector in either the positive electrode 2 or the negative electrode 3 located in the outermost layer of the power generation element 1. In this case, the weight per unit area of the active material layer in contact with the electrolyte layer 4 is set larger than that of the active material layer not in contact with the electrolyte layer 4. |
