A scanning apparatus comprises a base section (12) having a signal processing unit disposed thereon, and a rotor section (10) attached to the base section and movable relative to the base section. A detector (16) is coupled to the rotor section. A pair of flexures (32, 34) attach the rotor section to the base section and support the rotor section for movement relative to the base section. The pair of flexures each provide a single conductor for signals representative of scanned information to be sent from said the detector to the signal processing unit (33) of the base section.
