<p>The present invention relates to compositions suitable for cosmetic and/or therapeutic treatment of the nails, e.g., nail polishes. The invention particularly relates to nail polish compositions which provide improved wear. Preferred compositions contain, by weight of the composition, from about 5 % to about 20 % of a film forming cellulosic polymer; from about 1.25 % to about 8 %, of a film forming polyurethane polymer; from about 3 % to about 20 % of a plasticizer; and from about 55 % to about 90 % of a volatile, organic solvent. The invention also relates to films formed from the compositions, and methods of treating the nails comprising application of the composition to the nails.</p> |
