A radially expandable stent for implantation within a body vessel, comprising one or more continuous, discrete, metal strands. At least three srands repeatedly cross over each other to form a bundle. The strands are joined at the proximal and distal end such that the strands are free to adjust their position relative to each other in response to compression forces. One or more bundles are wound together to form an elongate hollow tube. |
