A planar, light-transmitting plate having an optical refractive index greater than 1.0 is provided on its underside with a profile resembling saw teeth, it being the case that proceeding from the middle of the plate and beginning at 0 degrees the angles between the saw teeth edges and the planar plate increase towards both sides with each following tooth and in the process form prisms with increasing refraction of light, and that the streamers entering the individual prisms are united at a specific distance from the plate to form a single streamer having the width of one of the many equally wide prisms, thus making available there an amount of radiant energy, increased by the number of prisms, of the insolation, and preferably serving to heat a pipe and a heating medium (fluid) located in the said pipe.
