The automatic gear comprises a housing (3) in which switching elements are provided via a switching rail (2). A manual positioner is stationed at the lower end (8), acting on the switching rail, and the top end (1) is rotatably fixed in the housing. The positioner comprises a lid and bolts (7), and its upper end is fixed to the lid and the lower end acts on a groove (9) in the switching rail. The lid has a retainer (4), and is allowed to turn 90 deg about the retainer.
