The invention concerns a joint comprising at least two elements with shaped profiles arranged to fit into each other mutually such as a male part and at least one female part, each of them being integral with the edges of two adjacent slabs. One slab (22) edge is provided having a substantially L-shaped female profile (34) whereof the vertical branch (27) extends along the edge up to the slab (22) upper surface ridge and the base branch (35) extends inwards of the slab (22) and folded back on itself downwards to form a double branch (27) extending parallel to the base branch (35) leaving between them a reduced space (36) wherein part of the male profile (32) can be engaged.
