The coaxial connector release device has a fixing ring (2) of an elastic material and an operating element (3) for releasing the coaxial connector. The fixing ring and the operating element are coupled together via an extension piece (4) projecting at right angles from the fixing ring to fit over the connector end. The fixing ring is secured in a peripheral groove (7) around the outside of a sleeve (6) slid axially relative to the connector for releasing the latter. The fixing ring, the extension piece and the operating element may be made of an insulating material.
