PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a barrier rib forming process by forming a barrier rib layer consisting of glass powder and resin binder on a display panel substrate, radiating laser beams to the predetermined area in the barrier rib material layer so as to evaporate the barrier rib layer from this area, and burning the barrier rib layer in other areas for forming a barrier rib. SOLUTION: As a display panel substrate 1, a substrate, in which a plurality of parallel address electrodes A are arranged on a glass substrate 21 and a dielectric layer 22 is overlaid on it, is used. When a glass paste is applied to the display panel substrate 1 and dried, a barrier rib material layer 31 is formed. Via a dielectric mirror mask 32 arranged above the barrier rib material layer 31 at a slight clearance G, laser beams 35 are radiated. Mirror layers 34 of the dielectric mirror mask 32 reflect laser beams 35, so that the barrier rib material layer 31 matching areas having no mirror layer 34 is evaporated, and barrier rib 23 are formed in the rest areas. Subsequently, the barrier ribs 23 are burnt. |
