PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bidirectional shift register whose constitution is simpler and to obtain a bidirectional shift register which can be changed into an LSI with a small area. SOLUTION: In a forward transfer operation, data which is held by the parasitic capacitor C0 of an inverter I01 is driven by an inverter I02 , and it is transferred to an inverter I11 through a switch T0 and a switch S21 so as to be held by its parasitic capacitance C1 . In a reverse transfer operation, data which is held by the parasitic capacitance C3 of an inverter I31 is transferred to an inverter I21 via an inverter I32 , a switch T3 and a switch S22 so as to be held by its parasitic capacitor C0 . An odd-numbered switch S11 and an add- numbered switch S12 are switching-controlled by one of two-phase clocks, and the switch S21 and the switch S22 are switching-controlled by the other clock. When a switch T1 and a switch T3 are turned on or off according to a transfer direction, the switch T0 and a switch T2 are controlled so as to be turned off or on by the other clock. |
