An improved window shade system is provided. The system includes a tilting member (17) disposed inside a headrail and from which first and second ladder cords (18) depend. The system also includes front and rear fabric panels, or sheets (1 and 2), having top portions operatively connected to the depending ladder cords and bottom portions attached to a bottom rail (5). The system further also includes a plurality of spaced vanes (3) interconnecting the front and rear fabric sheets (1 and 2) and having a lift/lowering cord (19) routed therethrough for selectively raising and lowering the vanes (3) as desired.
