A metal mold driving device for molding, which is thin and excellent in mechanical efficiency and capable of performing both the compression and expansion (volume expansion) of molten resin in a metal mold; a molding device; and a molding method; wherein the metal mold driving device for molding (20) which moves a movable metal mold (10B) to and from a cavity (10C) comprises a large diameter main cylinder device (21) and a plurality of small diameter sub cylinder devices (22) arranged around the periphery of the main cylinder device (21), whereby, after molten resin is filled, the cylinder devices (21, 22) are operated so as to move the movable metal mold (10B) to and from the cavity (10C) in order to compress or expand the molten resin in the cavity for molding.
