发明名称 IMPROVEMENT OF SINTERABILITY BY ADDITION OF GLASS FORMING AGENT SUCH AS BORON OXIDE, GERMANIUM OXIDE AND TELLURIUM OXIDE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a high density sintered body by adding glass forming agents such as boron oxide, germanium oxide and tellurium oxide and intendedly evaporating them in synthesis. SOLUTION: A powdery starting material is mixed with an adequate amt. of glass forming agents such boron oxide, germanium oxide and tellurium oxide and the glass forming agents are intendedly evaporated in sintering under atmospheric pressure. The glass forming agents are intendedly segregated on the interface between particles in synthesis, the wettability of the particles with each other is improved at the time of heating to a high temp. to attain close contact and these low temp. melts are intendedly evaporated in firing by heating. The adhesion of the particles to each other is enhanced by the evaporation to vanish holes and the sinterability of the polycrystalline starting material is improved. Any polycrystalline ceramics can highly be sintered and a high density sintered body can be obtd. without using a large-scale apparatus such as a hot press or a hot isostatic press. This method is applicable to various industrial fields such as the inorg. product manufacturing industry as well as the ceramic field.
