PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new peptide containing part or the whole of the constant region of T-cell receptor β-chain but not containing the other regions of the above 9-chain, having immunosuppressive activity, and therefore useful in the prevention and treatment of allergy and autoimmune diseases and the like. SOLUTION: This new polypeptide is such one as to substantially contain part or the whole of the constant region of T-cell receptor β-chain but not substantially contain the other regions of the above β-chain and have immunosuppressive activity, and therefore, useful as e.g. an immunosuppressive agent, delayed type sensitivity reaction inhibitor, antibody production inhibitor, preventive/therapeutic agent for allergic diseases or autoimmune diseases, inhibitor against rejection in organ transplantation. This polypeptide is obtained by integrating a vector with a DNA encoding a fused polypeptide of the formula; R1 -X-R2 (R1 is a support polypeptide; R2 is the polypeptide in the constant region of the T-cell receptor β-chain; X is a protease recognition site) followed by protease treatment of the fused polypeptide thus expressed. |
