POLYMER COMPOSITION FOR EXPANSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer composition for expansion which has a high extrusion foaming processability and yields a foam having a high wear resistance. SOLUTION: This objective comprises from 5 to 95 pts.wt. propylene/ethylene block copolymer wherein the melt flow rate at 190 deg.C under a load of 2,160 g is from 0.1 to 20 g/10 min and from 95 to 5 pts.wt. ionomer wherein (1) the base polymer is an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer wherein the (meth) acrylic acid content is from 5 to 20 wt.%, (2) the neutralization degree by a metal ion is 30% or larger and (3) the melt flow rate at 190 deg.C under a load of 2,160 g is from 0.1 to 10 g/10 min.
