PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the chipping of a tip and improve the wear resistance by specifying the ratios of Ti carbide and Ta carbide, and further specifying the rake and clearance angle of a tip. SOLUTION: In this metal cutting tip saw, a prescribed quantity of the connecting phase forming component of a binder (Co or Ni, or Co and Ni) is included in a blend composition (Ti, Ta, W) consisting of carbide as hard phase forming component. In order to provide desired welding resistance and wear resistance, the respective ratios of Ti and Ta, which are carbide, are limited to 8%-15%. The rakeβof a tip 5 is limited to 4-7 deg. to minimize the cutting area of the chip bitten into a workpiece, whereby the cutting resistance is reduced to facilitate the biting of the tip into the workpiece. The clearance angleαof the tip is limited to 11-14 deg. to prevent the wear of the flank 7 of the tip to the workpiece.
