PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound recordable and reproducible at a short wavelength and useful as a recording layer of an additional recording type high density photorecording medium, having a specific dipyrromethene-based compound as a ligand. SOLUTION: This chelate compound is composed of (A) a compound of formula I [R1 to R5 are each H, a halogen, an amino, a 1-20C alkyl or the like; A is a (substituted) heterocyclic ring or a (substituted) naphthalene ring] and (B) a metal ion, e.g. bis[(1-phenyl-4-azaisoindol-3-yl) (3,5-diphenylpyrrol-2,2- diyl)methene]copper. The chelate compound is obtained by, e.g. reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula II to obtain the compound of formula I and reacting the resultant compound with an acetic acid salt or a halide of a metal such as nickel, cobalt, iron, copper, zinc, etc. |
