PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for annealing tool steel capable of obtaining an annealed structure in which carbides are uniformly dispersed in a short time. SOLUTION: By hot rolling or heating to >= an austenitizing temp., the austenite grain size is controlled to <=50μm, and thereafter, it is cooled to a temp. between a pearlite nose temp. and a bainite transformation starting temp. at a cooling rate of >=300 deg.C/hr, is subsequently heated to a temp. between the pearlite nose temp. and the Ac1 transformation point and is subjected to spheroidizing.
