PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sterilizing a feed, capable of efficiently sterilizing Salmonella bacteria, etc. polluting the livestock feed in a high sterilization ability and capable of avoiding the contact of the livestock feed with steam drainage to the utmost to prevent the livestock from becoming sticky. SOLUTION: This method for sterilizing a feed comprises feeding a livestock feed polluted by Salmonella bacteria, etc. to a conveyer, etc. in a layer thickness of 80-120 mm and subsequently bringing the feed into contact with steam charged at a rate of 2-3 kg/cm<2> for 4-6 min to heat the livestock feed at 80-130 deg.C, thereby sterilizing the Salmonella bacteria, etc. without denaturing the components of the livestock feed. The sterilization device for the livestock feed is obtained by connecting a mechanism for feeding the livestock feed polluted by the Salmonella bacteria, etc., a mechanism for discharging the livestock feed in which the Salmonella bacteria, etc., are sterilized, a steam-charging pipe 10 for charging steam in a pressure of 2-3 kg/cm<2> , and a pipe 18 for discharging steam drain to a pressure type sterilization can in which a carrying means such as conveyer is disposed in multi-stages. |
