PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and simple watering device using a halved pet bottle, enabling the water maintenance of many flower pots, etc., and permitting a family to go out without anxiety, when no one is home for several days for a trip, etc. SOLUTION: A water supply wick 6 includes a tape-like PVA sponge and a cord-like wound acrylic fiber non-woven fabric which have excellent abilities to suck up water. When a halved 2 liter PET bottle, etc., is used as a water supply container 7, the variation in the level of water is little, and the decrease in the daily volume of supplied water is also reduced. The tip of the water supply wick 6 is deeply inserted from the surface of a culture soil in a flower pot, etc., into the culture soil, and the base portion of the water supply wick 6 is immersed in water in the water supply container. The level of the water in the container is set to a somewhat lower position than the surface of the culture soil. The capillary phenomenon of the water supply wick 6 and the water-sucking force of the culture soil are effectively utilized to supply the water. The above method is synthetically utilized to reduce the daily decrease in the volume of the supplied water as much as possible. When a large water supply container 7 is used, water can simultaneously be supplied to plural flower pots, etc., for a week or longer.
