Process for the preparation of a standard mixture of O-( beta -hydroxyethyl)diosmins, consisting essentially of 5- and 3'-mono-O-( beta -hydroxyethyl)diosmins and 5,3'-di-O-( beta -hydroxyethyl)diosmin, characterised in that 1 mole of diosmin is reacted with 4.5 moles of 2-chloroethanol in aqueous alkaline medium at a temperature between 15 and 30 DEG C.
