PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink stably usable for a long period without causing the clogging of a nozzle of a recording head and without producing foreign materials and useful for both a continuous method and an on-demand method by including a paraffinsulfonic acid therein. SOLUTION: This ink is an ink for ink jet recording and contains (A) a paraffinsulfonic acid in an amount of preferably 0.005-0.5 wt.% based on the total amount of the ink. Specifically, the ink further contains (B) a pigment or a disperse dye, (C) water, (D) a dispersing agent such as an anionic surfactant or a nonionic surfactant and (E) a high-boiling organic solvent, etc., such as a polyhydric alcohol (a lower alkyl ether) together with the component A. Furthermore, a compound having dithiocyanate group (e.g. methylene dithiocyanate) in place of the component A can be used in the ink. |
