PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in measuring a continuous blood pressure, in a tonometer for measuring a continuous blood pressure noninvasively by analyz ing a vibration propagating in a blood vessel, by arbitrarily setting the oscilla tion frequency and the amplitude of an exciter for vibrating the blood vessel. SOLUTION: A vibration generator 1 generates vibration at arbitrary frequency and amplitude and vibrates an artery by an exciter 2. A noninvasive sensor 3 converts the vibration from the exciter 2 transmitted through the artery of a subject into an electric signal. A tonometer 43 for calibration measures the maximal pressure and minimal pressure of a subject. A pressure calculation means 5 calculates, based on the signal generated by the vibration generator 1, a continuous blood pressure from the electric signal outputted from the noninvasive sensor 3, and the absolute values of the maximal pressure and the minimal pressure outputted from the tonometer 4 for calibration. Thereby, a blood pressure at arbitrary frequency and amplitude which are the most effective to the subject can be measured, so that a highly reliable and highly accurate noninvasive continuous tonometer is realized.
|
