The joint comprises journal bearings, with each journal (17) of the joint centre section supported inside a bearing shell (9) by needle bearings (29). The bearings are protected by an inner seal (32) and outer seal (38). The outer seal is clamped onto a profiled groove (40) under the journal and has at least two inwards facing ridge profiles (41,43) for a secure grip on the mounting. The lower part of the outer seal has a curved profile (43) to sit in a corresponding groove profile. The seal is stretched to sit in the profiled groove and is reinforced with a metal insert (49) bonded to the seal. The outer lip of the outer seal lies over the outer lip of the bearing shell.
