发明名称 GAP FORMING METHOD FOR MAGNETIC HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the quality by forming track grooves to a joining face of a head core base material while leaving plural tracks, applying glass mold, forming nonmagnetic thin film to parts except the track by sputtering and joining and incorporating the head core base material. CONSTITUTION:Track grooves 17' are formed at a prescribed pitch to the bonding face of a couple of head core base materials 11, 12 made of a ferromagnetic substance while leaving plural tracks T and glass molding is applied and the nonmagnetic thin film 20' is formed by sputtering to parts except the track T by masking. Then the head core base materials 11, 12 are butted, joined and incorporated and a dummy track T' is provided to the glass mold zone of the joining face of the head core base materials 11, 12 formed with the nonmagnetic thin film 20'. Thus, the glass 18' is imbedded to the gap being the magnetic gap to form a strong magnetic gap, and since the nonmagnetic thin film is sputtered partially, the invasion of a foreign material is suppressed by butting the head core base material and the gap length is regulated by the dummy track to make the gap length stable.
