This invention is concerned with the honing of edge cutting tools and in particular with the blades of safety razors, with the emphasis being placed on the modern twin-bladed razor. The invention provides a simple apparatus designed to engage a safety razor such that the blade (30) is located into a shroud (15), the shroud being provided with a resilient cushion (26) which is intended to be forced up against a tap such that water is injected in a pressure stream over the blades of the razor. The action of passing water across the blades in this manner tends to exercise a honing action on the blades which extends their useful life over a number of months. |
