Novel system for receiving vessels of any size and for placing them in dry dock, on platforms, allowing repair, maintenance or even construction work to be carried out at embankment level or very close thereto. Using the manoeuvring basin 1, this novel system allows a vessel to be positioned, still afloat, on a raised platform 2, the embankment level being the subsequent drainage caused by gravity. This system may include a number of platforms 2 in a radial configuration defined by the concurrence of the axes of the platforms 2 and of the manoeuvring basin 1, allowing the rotation and radial distribution of the vessels by means of the various platforms 2. This system combines substantial advantages, namely economic advantages at investment level, environmental advantages in connection with existing docking systems since, on the one hand, it requires works and foundations at embankment level and water-table level that are less structurally stressed and, furthermore, it involves less movement of earth during construction. In addition to this, exploitation and development of the naval repair and construction business, by means of this system, also affords the advantage of greater rationalization of means and easier and more effective environmental control of water. <IMAGE>
