SOLUTION: Analog image data from an image pickup element 11 are converted into digital image data by an A/D converter circuit 12, an image processing circuit 13 corrects the digital image data by using a lookup table, a bit conversion processing circuit 16 limits a gradation range to covert the 16-bit gradation digital image data into 8-bit gradation digital image data and provides an output of the converted data to a display section 18 or the like and a recording device 19 records the digital image data before the image processing, contents of the lookup table and the gradation range to a storage medium.
