PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with a uniform and high contrast display and excellent display quality while forming a uniform liquid crystal layer. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a pair of opposing substrates 1a, 1b for providing electrodes 2a, 2b for display and liquid crystal alignment layers 3a, 3b, a liquid crystal of an almost uniform thickness between the substrates 1a, 1b, and spacers 14 for forming an almost uniformly thick liquid crystal layer in the liquid crystal layer 6. Here, the spacers 14 are conical with their bottom parts on one of the opposed substrates and their vertexes in contact with the other substrate. |
