Method of stabilizing waterlogged ground uses stacks of rectangular metal boxes

Excavating equipment and a crane are used to deposit stacked layers of rectangular boxes (1) into the ground. Each box as horizontal beams across its base panel (3). The longitudinal side panels (4) carry vertical I-shaped beams (9) which interlock with the beams on adjacent boxes. Each box has vertical tubes through them and a manhole aperture (8). The vertical tubes can be used to pump out trapped water from the sand under the construction.
