摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the occurrence of toner splashing and spilling not only in a low-speed region but in a high-speed region as well by providing the toner with a specific surface characteristic and specifying the bulk density/true density and adhesion stress at the time of specific compression to specific ranges. SOLUTION: The surface characteristic satisfies the equation; D/d50>=0.20, where D=6/(ρ/s)(bulk density/true density (ρ) at the time of compression at 1 kg/cm<2> )×100>=30. The adhesion stress at the time of compression at 1 kg/cm<2> is specified to satisfy <=6 g/cm<2> . In the equation, D denotes an equiv. grain size (μm) from the BET surface area when the shape of the toner is assumed to be a sphere; d5 denotes a 50% relative grains size (μm) of a relative weight distribution by grain sizes;ρdenotes the true density (g/cm<3> ); S denotes the BET surface area rate (m<2> /g), respectively. Magnetic powder, such as ferrite, magnetite, iron powder, coloring agents and other desired additives; for example, charge control agent and wax are mixed in and by the amts. and methods of the prior art and the mixture is then subjected to kneading, pulverizing and classifying to obtain particles having a desired grains size. These particles are subjected to instantaneous heat treatment. The grain size is preferably 4 to 10μm, more preferably 5 to 9μm.</p>
