PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the 'first copy time' by starting generation of a scanning line synchronizing signal simultaneously with the lamp-up period of an optical rotary mirror and/or correcting a laser. SOLUTION: At the beginning of a scanning line 40, an HSYNV detector provides an HSYNC signal 42 to be used for the horizontal synchronism of print data related to a image to be printed. The output of a laser beam has to be turned on for detection due to an HSYNC detector 16. Afterwards, it is preferable that the excitation of the laser beam output is canceled while progressing scanning in a scanning direction 44 until the projection path of the laser beam enters a safe are outside the range of an image area 48. After the projection path enters the safe area 46 and the laser is turned on, the laser is corrected by measuring the output of power from itself. Since the laser is corrected simultaneously with the lamp-up period of the optical rotary device, the first copy time can be shortened. |
