The assembly comprises a wheel (3) on a column (1), with the rotation of the wheel passed through a transmission mechanism with chains (13, 14), a pulley (12) with a lever (19) and a bar (7) connected to a second lever (20) on the rudder shaft (21). The column is supported by a base (2) with a sole plate which is set on the vessel bridge deck with an elastomer seal. The rotation of the wheel is pass to the rudder through steering chains (13, 14) linked to a sector-shaped pulley (12), and via a lever on the pulley and a bar to a second lever on the rudder shaft. Preferably the system incorporates a seal of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) between the base sole plate and bridge deck. |
