PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a color image that has a satisfactory color quality by enhancing color balance of colored light of red, green and blue which are outgoing light from each area that respectively corresponds to a color filter and almost eliminating a white band color that is displayed by color mixture of the colored light of the colors. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal layer thickness adjustment film 8 which corresponds to a green filter 7G and a blue filter 7B among red, green and blue color filters 7R, 7G and 7B is provided. Here, liquid crystal layer thickness dR of an area corresponding to the filter 7R, liquid crystal layer thickness dG of an area corresponding to the filter 7G and liquid crystal layer thickness dB of an area corresponding to the filter 7B are set in such a manner that a color which is shown by the color mixture of colored light of each light that is made incident on each area of them, permeates the filters 7R, 7G and 7B, colors the color of the coloring film, also permeates a liquid crystal layer 10 and comes out of each of the areas becomes white. |
