PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of scratches or the like by providing a first transparent substrate where a picture element electrode and an element for picture element switching are formed in a display area and a second transparent substrate arranged oppositely to the first transparent substrate and providing at least one of the first and second transparent substrates with a specified thickness. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal panel 30 is constituted of an active matrix substrate AM (first transparent substrate) composed of a transparent substrate and an opposite substrate OP (second transparent substrate) provided with a counter electrode 210 and a light shielding film (black mask) BM1. At the time, while the thickness of the active matrix substrate AM is about 1 mm, the thickness of the opposite substrate OP is made equal to or more than 2 mm. Thus, the interval of the scratch or the like attached to the outer surface 402 of the opposite substrate OP as the outer surface of the liquid crystal panel 30 and liquid crystal LC at the converging position of projected light becomes equal to or more than 2 mm. Thus, even when the scratch or the like is attached to the outer surface 402 of the opposite substrate, the projected light converged to the liquid crystal LC is turned to a defocus state on the outer surface 402 so as to make the image of the scratch or the like inconspicuous on projected video images. |
