PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image distortion from occurring and manufacture a cathode-ray tube at low cost and with a small amount of man-hour. SOLUTION: A getter spring 10 is extendedly formed in a tube body T of a cathode-ray tube from an electron gun E toward a funnel part F and a getter material 19 is positioned and supported at the tip of the getter spring 10 in the funnel part F. The getter spring 10 is composed by interconnecting a first metal plate 11 and a second metal plate 12 through a relaying member 13. The relaying member 13 is formed from a resistive ceramic having a volume resistance in the range of 10<2> -10<12>Ω.cm, preferably a resistive ceramic having a volume resistance in the range of 10<4> -10<10>Ω.cm prepared by adding oxide of iron, manganese, neodymium or titanium to alumina, forsterite, steatite or zirconia.
