PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of performing data recording of a high S/N ratio by automatically adjusting a laser power level during CAV recording or jitter-free recording. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a recording PLL circuit 111 for generating a recording clock in synchronization with a detected recording timing signal, and a recording power variable laser driver 114 for variably driving a recording laser beam to change a power level. Even when a linear velocity is shifted from a target velocity, since the adjustment of a power level roughly in proportion to the frequency of the recording clock by the recording power variable laser driver 114, the level of recording laser power is increased/ decreased according to the frequency of the recording clock changed by matching the linear velocity and, by performing recording/erasing with proper laser power, an S/N ratio is increased. |
