<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reading of information from being disabled due to the deterioration of a storage medium by storing error information that is generated on accessing on the storage medium and updating the error information and automatically backing up the information into a spare storage medium when an error count reaches a reference value or larger. SOLUTION: A storage medium is mounted to a drive part 7, and the drive part 7 starts loading the storage medium. While the storage medium is being loaded, error information is read from the storage medium, the storage medium is turned into a standby state, and writing and reading operation to the storage medium are made according to the instruction of a control part 8. The completion of the writing and reading to and from the storage medium is judged, and the storage medium is turned into a standby state when a next operation instruction arrives from the control part 8, thus following instructions from the control part 8 again. It is judged whether the error count value in the updated error information is equal to or more than the reference value or not. Then, when the error count value is equal to or less than the reference value, the updated error information is written. When the value exceeds the reference value, a backup operation to the spare storage medium is made.</p> |
