The converter comprises of a housing (16) with an inlet (20) and an outlet (21) for the fluid, containing an oval-section vane (1) which rotates in the chamber with minimal clearance. The vane is connected to a crankshaft by a journal, and its rotary motion is controlled by guides (8,9) on one of the housing flanges and a roller (18) set in the housing's cylindrical wall.
