PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate and save a document wherein glyphs are described similar ly to normal characters. SOLUTION: Character components are generated by a character component generating means 1 and stored together with a layer structure, grammatical restrictions, demand conditions, and the meanings of the character components, thereby registering the generated character components, taking registered character components according retrieval conditions, calculating and holding management information including use frequencies, retrieving and selecting desired character components by a character component retrieving and selecting means 2, editing a document consisting of glyphs by a document editing means 5 while retrieving and selecting character components, displaying and reediting a stored document, giving different restriction conditions in a document storage means 7, obtaining different sizes and arranging and rearranging glyphs, changing attributes for a detailed display or rough display, and giving the management information for storing the document. |
