PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a card with a satisfactory operability for opening or closing a cover, without deteriorating the rigidity required for the cover even in a miniaturized connector. SOLUTION: A connector for a card comprises an insulating body 2 and a cover 4 journalled to the insulating body 2, in such a manner as to be turnably opened or closed. When the cover 4 is closed, a contact 8 of a terminal 5 disposed in the insulating body 2 abuts against a circuit conductor for a card between the insulating body 2 and the cover 4. The cover 4 is slidably journalled in its longitudinal direction. Locking means 16, 25 are interposed between the cover 4 and the insulating body 2. The lock means makes the cover 4 slide towards a journal side so as to resiliently deform a plate spring piece 29, when the cover 4 is closed. The resultant resilient repulsion urges the cover 4 toward a free end. When the cover 4 is turned to the closed position, urging force slides the cover 4 toward the free end, thus turning into an engaging state with the locking means. |
