PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct communication between an internal computer and an external computer by a least cost routing. SOLUTION: Repeaters 111-113 respectively have path information including a path cost to reach external networks 2-5 by using a path control protocol. A path controller 114 with a repeater retrieval function has a repeater with a least cost routing for each destination network generated periodically based on the path information and a retrieval table which is recorded in correspondence to the cost. In the case that an internal computer 12 makes communication with an external computer 15, a packet from the internal computer 12 is first given to the path controller 114 with a repeater retrieval function. The path controller 114 with a repeater retrieval function transfers the received packet to any of the repeaters 111-113 according to the retrieval table. |
