PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder which can shorten an arithmetic processing time. SOLUTION: A bit position of the first '1' for MSB of digital data 160 is outputted as first bit encode-data 162. For upper 8 bits of the digital data 160, the prescribed operations are performed in parallel in a valid detector 102, a priority encoder 103, and a first valid bit mask unit 104, and for lower 8 bits, the prescribed operation is performed in parallel in a priority encoder 105 and a first valid bit mask unit 106. |
