PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively make compatible the granularity suppression and sharpness emphasis to inputted image signals and moreover to prevent an image part which originally is not to be granularity suppressed from being erroneously for granularity. SOLUTION: A granularity suppression processing by a granularity suppression processing means 11 and a sharpness emphasis processing by a sharpness processing means 12 are separately executed respectively to color image signals, and the difference of obtained granularity processed image signals and source image signals is processed with respect to the threshold. By a signal processing means 20, processed image signals for which the graininess suppression processing is not executed are obtained for the pixel of the large difference and the processed image signals are obtained by an arithmetic processing, based on the graininess processed image signals and sharpness emphasis processed image signals for the pixel with the small difference. |
