PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the responsiveness to starting the process of title programs by providing a means for looking through at a high speed the plural title programs recorded on a recording medium such as the disk, in a data processor like a disk changer and a means for easily selecting one of the title programs. SOLUTION: The data on the disk are selected by a data selecting means 110 for the operation looking through the contents of the disk and held on a hard disk 103. The partial data to be selected by the data selecting means 110 are processable for reproduction including the reproduction control information. By means of executing and presenting the partial reproduction with the use of the partial data held on the hard disk 103, the selection and settlement (start of reproduction) of the title program are executed by a series of user's operation without the exchange of the disk.
